I’ve been with the TPMG (Toronto Photography Meetup Group) for just over a year now, great group of people, learned a lot about photography itself over the past year and more. One of the growing pains we have had to live by was the limited messaging capabilities on meetup.com. With more and more members joining each month, trying to keep track of discussions on the meetup.com group just wasn’t working out. Our request for the ability to create seperate subforums were acknowledged several months ago but unfortunately we haven’t seen any improvements in this one specific area.
For about the last month, a few of us (Jerrold, Carrie, and myself) went out and decided to find a new solution. I think Jerrold was initially looking at it then I just got carried away and was able to find a solution that would do almost everything that meetup.com did and some.
So, with it being May 15th, today was the official launch of our new home, specifically moving to the new forum. Of course we had about a hundred and change already on the new site prior to today to give it a good shakedown and today, almost another 100 new members joined.
And with the new site, our revised logo. Click it to go to the new TPMG home!

Whenever there are some interesting cloud patterns, take a few shots, join them up with autostitch, emphasize the clouds in Photoshop and there you go. Click on the image for the original size.

Guess at the end of the month, no more shots from the 18th floor.
And on a seperate note, after leaving RBC to take care of some things for the new townhouse, came close on getting either t-boned or rear ended at an intersection. Light goes green, car in front makes the left turn, and I follow as there’s no traffic coming from the opposite way. I check anyways for traffic coming from the right and notice a Chrysler doing a pretty good speed and doesn’t look like it’s gonna stop. So here I am, stopped in the middle of the intersection and she goes straight by as I lay on the horn. Drive by her later as she’s stopped in traffic, she has the passenger window down and yells out “sorry”. I could have gave her the finger, screamed at her, etc. but it wouldn’t have done anything at all, so I just wave to acknowledge her and I continue on with my drive home.

Watched a few friends go karting at Goodwood Kartway just northeast of Toronto (in Stoufville) on Tuesday night. They also have a outdoor course in Hamilton and joined that series back then but going to Hamilton from Toronto and back was just too far so I only ended up doin a few races. I might do this again next year as this year’s series already started.

Didn’t go lapping but got a ride there with a friend (has the yellow S4). Took a bunch of photos there and took a ride in his S4, damn fast. Larger intercoolers, chipped, exhaust, suspension upgrade and a few other things.

I really should check my mail more often. Junk mail. Bill. Bill. Bill. Bank statement. Bill. Junk mail. F1 tickets!

Been meaning to go to Montreal for the F1 for quite a while, so finally pulled the trigger along with a friend and his dad. So tickets are in hand, now I just need to confirm (for my own sanity) that our hotel stay is in fact reserved…
And now in the process for trying to reserve a few campsites at Awenda for late August…. oooohhaaa, can’t wait for that trip either!
